Chapter 13

1 And David1732 consulted3289 with the captains8269 of thousands505 and hundreds,3967 and with every3605 leader.5057

2 And David1732 said559 to all3605 the congregation6951 of Israel,3478 If518 it seem good2895 to you, and that it be of the LORD3068 our God,430 let us send7971 abroad6555 to our brothers251 every where, that are left7604 in all3605 the land776 of Israel,3478 and with them also to the priests3548 and Levites3881 which are in their cities5892 and suburbs,4054 that they may gather6908 themselves to us:

3 And let us bring5437 again5437 the ark727 of our God430 to us: for we inquired1875 not at5921 it in the days3117 of Saul.7586

4 And all3605 the congregation6951 said559 that they would do6213 so:3651 for the thing1697 was right3477 in the eyes5869 of all3605 the people.5971

5 So David1732 gathered6950 all3605 Israel3478 together, from Shihor7883 of Egypt4714 even to the entering935 of Hemath,2574 to bring935 the ark727 of God430 from Kirjathjearim.7157

6 And David1732 went5927 up, and all3605 Israel,3478 to Baalah,1173 that is, to Kirjathjearim,7157 which834 belonged to Judah,3063 to bring5927 up there8033 the ark727 of God430 the LORD,3068 that dwells3427 between the cherubim,3742 whose834 name8034 is called7121 on it.

7 And they carried7392 the ark727 of God430 in a new2319 cart5699 out of the house1004 of Abinadab:41 and Uzza5798 and Ahio283 drove5090 the cart.5699

8 And David1732 and all3605 Israel3478 played7832 before6440 God430 with all3605 their might,5797 and with singing,7892 and with harps,3658 and with psalteries,5035 and with tambourines,8596 and with cymbals,4700 and with trumpets.2689

9 And when they came935 to the threshing floor1637 of Chidon,3592 Uzza5798 put7971 forth7971 his hand3027 to hold270 the ark;727 for the oxen1241 stumbled.8058

10 And the anger639 of the LORD3068 was kindled2734 against Uzza,5798 and he smote5221 him, because5921 834 he put7971 his hand3027 to the ark:727 and there8033 he died4191 before6440 God.430

11 And David1732 was displeased,2734 because3588 the LORD3068 had made5414 a breach6556 on Uzza:5798 why that place4725 is called7121 Perezuzza6560 to this2088 day.3117

12 And David1732 was afraid3372 of God430 that day,3117 saying,559 How1963 shall I bring935 the ark727 of God430 home to me?

13 So David1732 brought5493 not the ark727 home to himself to the city5892 of David,1732 but carried5186 it aside5186 into413 the house1004 of Obededom5654 the Gittite.1663

14 And the ark727 of God430 remained3427 with the family1004 of Obededom5654 in his house1004 three7969 months.2320 And the LORD3068 blessed1288 the house1004 of Obededom,5654 and all3605 that he had.

1 Посовещавшись со всеми начальниками тысяч и сотен, со всеми вождями,

2 Давид обратился с речью ко всей общине Израиля: «Если вы сочтете это благом и если это от ГОСПОДА, Бога нашего, исходит, то давайте пошлем гонцов к остальным нашим братьям по всем землям Израиля, а также к священникам и левитам по их городам и пастбищам, чтобы и они присоединились к нам.

3 И перенесем к себе ковчег Бога нашего, Которого мы не вопрошали со времен Саула».

4 И сказала вся община: «Так и сделаем!», ибо весь народ одобрил это.

5 После этого Давид собрал весь Израиль от Шихора Египетского до Лево-Хамата, чтобы перенести ковчег Божий из Кирьят-Еарима.

6 И отправился Давид и с ним весь Израиль в Баалу, то есть в Кирьят-Еарим, в Иудее, чтобы перенести оттуда ковчег Бога, ГОСПОДА, восседающего над херувимами, на котором наречено Его имя.

7 Повезли ковчег Божий на новой повозке из дома Авинадава, а Узза и Ахьо управляли ею.

8 Давид и весь Израиль от всей души ликовали перед Богом, пели, играли на лирах, арфах, бубнах, кимвалах и трубах.

9 Когда они подошли к гумну Кидона, Узза схватился за ковчег, чтобы удержать его, потому что волы споткнулись.

10 И воспылал гнев ГОСПОДЕНЬ на Уззу, и поразил Он его за то, что схватился тот за ковчег, и там же умер Узза пред Богом.

11 Давид огорчился, что ГОСПОДЬ поразил Уззу, а то место и по сей день называется Перец-Узза.

12 В тот день убоялся Давид Бога и сказал: «Как же я теперь принесу к себе ковчег Божий?»

13 И не повез Давид ковчег к себе, в Город Давидов, но отправил его в дом Овед-Эдома из Гата.

14 Ковчег Божий оставался в доме Овед-Эдома три месяца, и благословил ГОСПОДЬ весь дом Овед-Эдома и всё, что было у него.

13 So David1732 brought5493 not the ark727 home to himself to the city5892 of David,1732 but carried5186 it aside5186 into413 the house1004 of Obededom5654 the Gittite.1663

13 И не повез Давид ковчег к себе, в Город Давидов, но отправил его в дом Овед-Эдома из Гата.

14 And the ark727 of God430 remained3427 with the family1004 of Obededom5654 in his house1004 three7969 months.2320 And the LORD3068 blessed1288 the house1004 of Obededom,5654 and all3605 that he had.

14 Ковчег Божий оставался в доме Овед-Эдома три месяца, и благословил ГОСПОДЬ весь дом Овед-Эдома и всё, что было у него.
